Music & Fine Arts

Music

As an integral part of the curriculum, music is introduced through general music classes to students in Kindergarten and continues through Grade 9. Music history and theory are supplemented by work with small instruments and vocal training. By Grade 7 students have the opportunity to take part in our band program, offering students the opportunity to participate in woodwind, brass or percussion lessons and allowing them to increase their musicianship through participation in ensemble performances. These musical opportunities continue through the Upper School years.

Visual Arts

Fine Arts Program at Chesapeake Bay AcademyFine Arts Program at Chesapeake Bay AcademyThe Art Program at Chesapeake Bay Academy encourages our students to imagine, create and explore. The program allows students to indulge and experiment across a variety of media and promotes creativity through the expression of a student’s unique vision. Our art teachers approach the learning experience with the same passion and commitment found throughout our school, inspiring the students to seek their own artistic path no matter which discipline they choose. Using art as a multidisciplinary learning tool, teachers challenge students to solve problems creatively, allowing them to gain skills that can then be adapted and applied to their other academic studies.
