Facilities

From the moment you enter Chesapeake Bay Academy you’ll notice a difference between our building and traditional school environments. We designed our 50,000-square-foot building to be a state-of-the-art technological environment that is a safe and comfortable home for our students to learn and grow – without the sterile “brick and concrete” feel of other institutions. Walk along our wide carpeted hallways illuminated by overhead lighting that substitutes the traditional cold feel of neon for the warm glow of specially designed non-flicker bulbs. Open a door to a classroom and see how the sunlight pouring from the oversized windows creates an inviting learning space, where students can interact and study.

Every facet of our facility encourages our students to reach their highest potential. For students who want to pursue a career in computer programming or multimedia, our technology labs can help them achieve their goals. We feature the latest hardware and software to excel in Web and graphic design, computer games and animation, and networking and programming.

If a student has a passion for the arts, our studio classes allow a student to indulge and experiment in every discipline – drawing, painting, collage, textiles, ceramics, sculpture, mixed media, and more. And students that want to express themselves through music can start with music appreciation classes and continue on to our very popular Rhythm Project, the school’s percussion ensemble that teaches individual effort and cooperative achievement.

At Chesapeake Bay Academy we also understand that competitive sports can help nurture a student’s sense of self-esteem as well as develop teamwork skills that are so important to a child’s future. We offer a full, four-season opportunity to participate in sports programs, no matter what a student’s skill level. Our regulation, full-sized gymnasium is the ideal venue for our boys’ and girls’ basketball and volleyball teams, while our soccer and softball fields let students exercise their body as well as their mind in the warmer months.

Come tour our facilities. The atmosphere of comfort and safety will make you and your child feel at home immediately. It’s all part of the Chesapeake Bay Academy experience.
