PARENTS ASSOCIATION
Welcome to the Parent Association web page!
The Chesapeake Bay Academy Parent Association is dedicated to the interest and involvement of parents and families of all students attending Chesapeake Bay Academy. As a vital link between parents, administration, faculty and students, this mission of the Parent Association is to foster an understanding of the school's program, as well as, to enhance the growth and development of Chesapeake Bay Academy.
The Parent Association needs your help. Chesapeake Bay Academy is a special place for our children. This small environment that brings such enrichment to all our lives needs the help of its parents to grow and continue to meet our families’ needs. If we all volunteer just once this school year we will exceed our goals.
To make it easier for you to sign-up, as well as, communicate your thoughts with the Parent Association we have set up an interactive web-page at:
http://cbaparentsassociation.pbwiki.com.
There you will find links to event calendars, volunteer sign up, Parent Association news, questions and comments and links for easy sign up for the “No Brainer Fundraiser.” Please take some time to check it out.
The Parent Association will hold three fundraisers for the year. The first will be the Innisbrook wrapping paper. For our second fundraiser we are planning our first, and hopefully, annual Holiday Market for November 2nd and 3rd (with set-up occurring on the evening of November 1st). This promises to be a fun and easy shopping experience for the whole family. For our third fundraiser we are planning a Carnival that will likely occur in the Spring. Through these fundraisers the Parent Association hopes to raise enough money to donate $10,000 to CBA to help with school expenses not covered by our tuition. Tuition covers 75% of the annual operating cost for our school. The rest is covered through the Annual Giving Fund and the schools fundraising efforts like Gallery CBA, the CBA Auction and the Family Fun Run.
This is not the only goal for the Parents Association as we plan to purchase CBA tee shirts for the lower school children to wear on field trips as well as matching Polo's for our teachers. We want are students and teachers easily identifiable in public. And we are also hoping to help fill some of the wish list items for the teachers. For example, last year the Parent Association was able to promise a laminator for the staff.
The Parent Association is also here for our parent family. In the past, parents have asked for support groups to learn new ways to help our children and to hear from experts like doctors, therapists and tax specialists.
If you feel that there is a need the Parent Association can fill please contact me and we will do all we can to help. I can be reached by email at plgrega@cba-va.org or you can leave a note in the Parent Association mail box in the front office.
Sincerely,
Peyton Gega
