Friday, November 12, 2021

Schoolwide Parent Virtual COVID-19 Update Forum
Friday, November 12th at 12 p.m.

presented by Judy Jankowski, Ed.D. and Dave Levin, M.D.

Zoom link has been sent to all CBA families via email.

With the recent approval of the Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine for children ages 5-11, all school-age children are now eligible to be vaccinated. While this breakthrough has been long-awaited by some, we understand that others may have reservations. Our goal is to provide our families with research-based information from medical experts to help them in the decision-making process.

The Big Questions

Is the vaccine safe?

What are the benefits?

  • Fully vaccinated individuals do not have to quarantine should they be exposed to an individual who is infected. This means more time in the classroom for our students.
  • Fully vaccinated individuals are at a lower risk for developing symptoms that would require hospitalization.
  • Vaccination is the most effective way to limit the community spread of COVID-19.

Will CBA mandate vaccines?
CBA is committed to honoring the individual needs of our students and their families. We will work to be respectful of the varied personal beliefs that are held across our community. That said, we strongly recommend that members of the CBA community– faculty, students, and family members – be vaccinated for the health and well-being of all.

Our Process
From the onset of the pandemic, the CBA COVID-19 Task Force, comprised of medical professionals and other industry experts, has closely followed the recommendations made by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) when developing our policies, procedures, and mitigation strategies. This process has served us well thus far as we have been able to successfully isolate individual cases and have not had any instances of community spread. Our process will remain the same as we navigate our way through the next phase of this pandemic to ensure a healthy and safe community for all.

We are so appreciative of your confidence and your support of CBA throughout the pandemic. We look forward to our continued partnership as we work together in keeping our CBA community safe and healthy.
