Dolphins and Whales, oh my!
Upper school chemistry, earth and marine science students enjoyed a dolphin watching cruise on a recent trip organized through the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center. Participation in the program was funded by a grant from the Chesapeake Bay Restoration Fund.
While the weather was chilly and damp, the students spotted numerous dolphins (possibly Boomer’s cousins) and a humpback whale! The group followed the whale for an hour as it fed along the beach. The boat's crew noted they saw more activity on this trip than on many of their other cruises this season - lucky for our students!
