Dr. Jankowski appointed to EVMS Faculty
Congratulations to Dr. Jankowski on her recent appointment as a community faculty member at Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) in the School of Health Professions, Art Therapy and Counseling Program!
For the past 7 years, Dr. Jankowski has supported EVMS, supervising art therapy interns who serve the CBA community. In addition, she serves as the Community Representative for the EVMS Art Therapy program in their work with the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Programs, Accreditation Council for Art Therapy Education (ACATE). In her new role, Dr. J will have the opportunity to teach, participate in extensive professional development, and expand her research partnership with EVMS that began with the formation of the Center for Education Research and Technology Innovation (CERTI).
Dr. Jankowski began her tenure as Head of School at CBA in 2013. She has over 35 years of experience in education, serving first as a special education teacher and later as an administrator in independent schools outside of Chicago and Washington, DC. Dr. J earned her Doctorate in Education at National Louis University and completed post-graduate study in Leadership for Independent Schools at Johns Hopkins University. Most recently, Dr. Jankowski was the recipient of a Klingenstein Fellowship at the Teacher's College at Columbia University in New York City, and was selected as a 2020 Woman of Distinction by the YWCA of South Hampton Roads. She currently serves on the boards of Horizons Hampton Roads, the Westminster-Canterbury Foundation, Vanguard Gifted Academy, and the Virginia Association of Independent Schools (VAIS).
