Return to Campus Update & Calendar

Head of School
It’s a busy time here with lots of planning for next year underway. We are currently preparing procedures and policies focused on the health and safety of the entire school community. It’s a big task but we have assembled a great team to take it on. As there is an over-whelming amount of information to digest, I’d like to share a bit of the work with you each week so that you have time to review it and offer me feedback.
This week I’d like to share updates to the school calendar and how we will launch the new school year. We’ve made a number of changes to the way we will start the year beginning with a staggered opening. In order to pilot the various safety procedures that will be implemented, we will open for upper school students Monday and Tuesday, August 24-25. On Wednesday and Thursday, August 26-27 middle school will join the upper schoolers. Finally, lower school will join us on Friday, August 28. In this way we can evaluate how the safety procedures are working and tweak them, as necessary.
We have also made changes to the parent orientation schedule. As it will not be feasible to have a whole division orientation in the building, we are planning to record a portion of the orientation that you will be able to view at your convenience. It will include introductions to all non-teaching staff and administrators. They will explain their roles in the school community and provide you with contact information in the case that you require additional information. For those who have specific questions, or just want to connect personally, division leaders will make themselves available for 1-1 conversations on specific matters of interest/concern to you. Dates for these meetings are outlined on our calendar, click here to view the 2020-2021 school calendar.
Although many things may look different next year, we will continue to strive to create the same warm and nurturing community that you have some to know. Have a safe and relaxing 4th of July and I look forward to sharing more of our plans next week.
Warmly,
Dr. J
