Spring Sports Finale!
Last weekend marked the end of the Spring sports season.
The CBA “Ping Pong Porpoise” Club showed up in full force at 4th Annual Battle of the Paddles hosted by Ping Pong Gives Charity Founation at Kellam High School. Seven local schools joined together to play table tennis in support of mental health and brain fitness awareness. All 15 CBA players showed tremendous skill and sportsmanship. Daisy Robinette and Hugo Leighton made it to the quarter finals, with Daisy moving on to the semi-finals. Special guest, Dean Johnson, table tennis hall of famer and author, raffled off an autographed paddle won by our very own Patricia Lausier. Great job Ping Pong Porpoises!
Fins up to our CBA “Waverunner” Cross Country Team that tackled the heat and the hills at the Valor Run 5k on the Narrows course at First Landing State Park. Under the guidance of Coach Lincoln, the 14 student athletes built up strength and stamina through drills and long runs at the Virginia Wesleyan University track to get them to their peak performance. At the race, Barrett Demuth finished 1st in the 19 and under age group with a time of 23:23 (7:33 mile pace) and 6th place overall. Preston Roberts and Declan Shaiboon also made a strong showing coming in at 4th and 9th place respectively within the 19 and under age group. Almost every student on the team improved their mile time during the race. Congrats Waverunners!
