Welcome Back from Dr. J.
Dear CBA families,
The energy in the building this week has been fantastic with everyone coming back ready to jump headlong into the school year. With the launch of our new sensory gym, we have all been jumping for joy! This new space provides room for classwork, social skills instruction, self-regulation, and just plain fun.
As much as we want to make learning fun and engaging for our students, at this time we must acknowledge the serious work of keeping everyone safe again this year. While the summer provided a welcome respite, we must redouble our efforts against the COVID-19 virus and the new, more virulent Delta strain. I encourage all of you who are able to receive the vaccine, parents and students, to do so as soon as possible. Our ability to keep students available for in-person learning depends it. The other key mitigation strategy is mask wearing. It's everyone's responsibility to wear a mask! While all of us find the restrictions of a mask challenging, it is incumbent on us to make this sacrifice for the benefit of all.
Last year I was truly heartened by the cohesiveness of our CBA community. Regardless of the many differing views that each of us held, the common cause of educating our very special learners served to hold us together in solidarity. I look forward to standing together again, as we work to reach our goal of in-person learning for all. With your support, I believe we can make this aspiration a reality.
With appreciation for your efforts,
